So, I dabble a little in amatuer theatre (not the type where large middle aged women try to play young slim teenage girls) and we've just done a short run of Return to the Forbidden Planet. Twas a great show filled with rock and roll songs from the 60's, set on a spaceship with giant inflatable tentacles, a rollerskating robot and 120 children in the chorus. It is based on Shakespeare's Tempest and most of the dialogue is taken from various pieces of his work. It's an old show, but if a company ever puts it on near you, it's definitely worth going to see.

Sadly, its now all over. And whilst I have our panto to look forward in December, I am very much suffering from a case of withdrawal symptoms today. :(

Anyone else know this feeling?

Oh yeah, I know that feeling.

I do amateur theatre. As well as acting, I like to lend a hand with the costumes, I make tickets and posters and programmes. It's not just a hobby, it becomes a lifestyle in the weeks leading up to the show. It's like a grievance when the show is over. I never know what to do with myself.
