I noticed today that my smallest hoplo had something white on its head, it looks like a bad burn :\

nothing else is affected, and he doesn't seem bothered by it at all, acting normally

take a look:
my slr seemed to drown out the colour so ill post one with my phone aswell

That looks nasty.
Does the heater have a guard.
Any sign of flicking and rubbing, excess mucas or slime, laboured breathing, darting, or erratic swimming.
The white patches do they look like cotton wool.

I would issolate and use a bacterial med.

that my heater, cant remember the wattage though...i guess it doesnt have a guard :(

no flicking, rubbing, darting slime or anything else out of the ordinary! not cotton wool, just looks liek missing scales, shiny even

the only meds i have in the house right now are myxazin and meth blue...it will have to wait until tomorrow to get anything else :(

Wrap the fish in a cloth soak in tank water and dab the wound with methylene blue.
You can use it raw I think. But will have to check.

Add some myxazin by waterlife to the tank.
I would go to the lfs and buy a heater guard.

=]

thankyou i will add myxazin now and check in work tomorrow for a heater guard

Ok.
Let me know how he gets on if you don't mind.

Also check if you can use methylene blue raw, or diluted down to dab wounds.
