Ok so i got this 270 gallon tank in a garage sale
and i filled it up and the water is super cloudy
and im kinda a noob
and i just went out and got fish cause i thought they would clear the water
so i bought these fish called discus

but the water is just getting cloudier

please have suggestions

should i get a filter
should i get something to fill the bottom with like gravel

help im only a noob

you need to bring that diskus back to the store and have them hold it.most small stores will hold fish for a paying coustomer.then get sand and add it.then hook up a filter.your gunna need a big filter.

omg CHILD!!!

Please bring those Dicus back!
They are sensitve fish and are not for the beginner!
With a tank that big (mine is a 230) you will need a massive filter!
Either go with a couple of canisters (off the tank system) or have some holes drilled for an overflow system (which is what I have and will not go back to an over the tank system).
Please hun, do some reading and follow that link, it will help you step by step. Any other questions please feel free to ask!
Come onto chat sometimes, there is always help there.

Just curious, how much did you pay for the tank?

i think he is lying

and doesnt put a filter on it and doesnt put gravel ect.

r u serious?

yo hang urself

yeh dont take the bait  iv seen scottie in chit chat and he has stated he spezilizes in freshwater, ill find the link, meanwhile scottie STOP trolling!

i agree, in a very short space of time he apparently has purchased a 270 gallon, 75 gallon, 85 gallon and a load of goldfish, and more.
And then, you claim that you are an expert when it comes to freshwater fish, especially oscars. pffft whatever
honestly, do these people think we're thick or something?
help im only a noob
oh really? i thought you were an expert on freshwater fish?

cant find the link but he was advising a member to throw his new coral away becoz they had an anemone sucked up the filter! what has a flippin anemone sucked up the intake got to do with trashing you expensive coral!!! then he advised the member to get a new tank in the morning with plants and coral.

as if were gonna take any notice to you know scottie!!

people like that that give forums a bad rep lol :)

personally i dont think anemones should be kept in tanks at all no matter what size.
meh thats marine chat in the tropics B-)

Why do you think that die_grinder?

All living things, to a certain extent, shouldn't be kept in aquariums. Anenome's are no different?
