Please Help Identify

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

It could be anything from columnaris to parasites, ph shock.
Do the growths look fluffy like cotton wool.
Where are the growths on the fish.
Any signs of darting, erratic swimming, flicking and rubbing, laboured breathing.

started out looking like a grey/whitish patch (yesterday) and now it does sort of look like cotten wool,

its on his side near his top fin
thanks

It sounds like columnaris then.
Columnaris has so many disguises. Greyish white patches, cotton wool, strands of cotton, spots.
Also there saddle back columnaris which starts at the dorsal fin and goes along the back and down the sides to form a saddle shape.

Uk. Myxazin by waterlife and pimafix.
US. Maracyn one and two.

thanks, will try get some.
will other brands for fin rot and ulcers work?

If you live in the uk don't get anti finrot and fungus med by interpet. It's not very good on columanris, and also know fish have a bad reaction to the med.

Location would help with suggesting a med to use.

Esha med fine. But it depends on the strain of bacteria.
