In my 200 litre tank amongst others i have 6 panda corys.
I done my usual weekly water change and was due to change the fine wool filter in my Eheim external filter. I proceeded to strip my filter down and placed the top two trays in a bucket of old tank water.
I was then totally gutted as i spotted what i thought was a dead fish on top of the next tray of filter media.
On closer inspection i was amazed to find that the fish was still alive and in fact was a baby panda cory.
I netted him out and put him back in the tank. Within half an hour he was with the other corys and looking well and swimming around with them.
Has any one else had this happen to them?

I've heard this story quite a few times and it amazes me. I wonder how they survived being in the filter..... I guess nobody will know exept the fish itself, lol.

The fish is fine after his ordeal and must have fed well, as he is about a quarter inch long.
It's good to know that my pandas are breeding in my tank as well, even though I never noticed a pregnant fish!!!

My BN's go over the filter return on my hob filter and happily live in the filter until I tip them back out into the main tank, I have had cherry shrimp living quite happily inside my Aqua One AR380 filter, they where on top of the floss part and only had water running over them.

Oh and the panda would not have been pregnant they are egg layers but congrats on getting a fry out out of them without having to rescue eggs.
