So today I picked up some aquarium supplies which includes a 18kg bag of Alltreat Farms Play Sand. Adding water to it created a huge mess so I had to clean the sand before I used it. After realizing that cleaning it out in the sink causes too much sand to go in the sink I did some research and used the water change bucket and a hose outside. I would swish the sand around with water until it pretty much ran clean. I used about half of the bag. I collected quite a bit of sand. Enough to fill a 1 gallon bowl half way.

The sand I cleaned before I used the hose is in this tank. It's a 1.5 gal with my betta, Bob in it.

This is a top-down view of his bowl. The sand has been cleaned so well that I can kick some sand up and it just sinks. Do you think that this sand would look good in a NPT "Walstad" set up? This is the sand I plan on using for it. Also, how do you clean your sand? Do you use play sand?

My second supply was a bag of Miracle Gro Potting Mix. All I need to buy now is the Dwarf Hairgrass.

Play sand and how to clean it a weekly topic on here bud, have a search theres plenty of hits on it. :good:

I was hoping to finally be able to buy my Dwarf Hairgrass today
