As I'm still new to all of this fishkeeping stuff, I'm not sure what's up with the candy platy I have.

I've had fish about 2 months, maybe longer (I'm thinking longer, just don't remember), and one of the last set of fish we've added to our tank was a candy platy. I had no clue if the fish I was buying were male or female, and the store didn't seem to know (or care, unfortunately). So, the candy platy wasn't all that big when I got it, and I'm beginning to wonder if maybe it's a she, and she's pregnant. It's belly is absolutely huge. And stranger yet, our Dalmation platy follows it around the tank incessantly. If another fish gets close, the dalmation chases it off, nips fins, and otherwise becomes extremely aggressive. Could it be that they've bred? And if so, what do I need to do to raise the fry? I'm rather interested in raising them, should I end up with any. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

So far, I can't get her to sit still long enough for a picture with my phone and my husband likes taking my camera to work with him. I'll see what I can do. I'd really like to know if she's pregnant, or just fat/bloated.

EDIT:

I managed to quickly snap one of the candy and dalmation together.

Notice how the dalmation is significantly smaller, too. I dunno what's up with these two.

The front of her belly is dropped, this due to overfeeding not neing pregnant, feed a bit less than you are doing as you dont want her to end up badly bloated.

Okie dokie, will do... Just one more question -- this won't affect the other fish, will it? I want them all to eat enough.
