hey there i am just wondering if anyone could help me out .....
i have got myself some baby platys that are around 4months old they were my 1st lot of frys an are sooo cute
i have got myself another breeding tank full of lil ones waitin to get in to the big tank lol but i am just gettin a lil worried now as i dnt no and cant fine on the net or in my books how old a platy is before they start breeding
i would love to breed from them but at the mo they look sooosmall i woodn wanna do it just yet could anyone help lol

Usually once you can sex them, they start breeding soon afterwards.

There's no way to stop them breeding really... if they are ready to they will.
I've seen mollies 3/4 inch long and pregnant... they only have two or three fry their first few drops, it doesn't hurt them in the least.

Once they are able to sex, they are ready to breed, only prob is the first few drops will rarely survive and only be a couple anyways..

I usually wait til they are about 6 months old before i breed the younger ones.
