Platy Being Weird

one or two platys have started sqimming in the current of my filter were it start to swirl round the tank. Not at the surface...in the top 3rd of the water they all swim in the current...cud this be leading to anything or what? They only do it when light is on and then when its off at night they settle near the bottom for a rest lol

Water stats in ammonia,nitrite,nitrate,and ph.

3 blackskirt tetra
2 diamond tetra
1 red wag platy
1 tuxedo platy
1 male gupyy
1 sunset platy
1 swordtail

ammonia - approx .2/.3 (has creeped up since adding the 5 tetras 2days go)
nitrite - 0
nitrate - 10ph - in between 7 and 7.5

Black shirt tetra are quite big and need to be in no less than a 20 gallon really.
The fish are in the current as your stats have changed.
I would perform a water change.

I have just ordered a 160l tank which arrives friday all being well...as soon as the cycle is done in it the black skirt tetra's are going into it hopefully once i get it cycled. they are about 1cm if even at the min.

I have done a 14l water change yesterday...should i do this daily? Or should i increase the amount i change to help bring the conditions back down?
