ive never really had much experience with plants in my own aquarium. ive just bought some java fern and anubias (sp?) nana and my only convern is that my water had softner in it (well) and im wondering if those plants do well in higher Ph (8.5ish) so far after about a week the java fern is looking a little crappy but the anubias (sp) looks alright, im trying to get them to attach to some rocks. anyways my real question is, are those plants good in higher Ph? if not what should i go with?

both those plant is low light plants and PH doesnt really increase to decrease growth. Do you have a light over the tank? if yes is it a fullspectrum or a cool white ( cheap ) light, if its a fullspectrum light any amount of light will help the plant growing, or atleast keep them alive, but if its a cool white you'll need more than 1watt per gallon for any growth.
