i need a plant or 2 for my tang tank,i read somewhere that onion plants are good for high ph's is this true?coz that plant would be perfect for my 55g.
are there any others that will do well in a ph of 8+?

Vallisneria are perfect for you Tang. tank. I have a mix of Italian and Corkscrew Val. They, IMHO, are a good mix. Also, there are actually Vallisneria species growing in the lake, but I don't know which species. That means, you can recreat (somewhat) the environment theat would normally occur. P.S. I'm glad to see another interested in Lake Tang.

P.S. I would check out The Krib. The first memo suggests that V. aethiopica is the native plant in question.

thanks CF,
I'm glad to see another interested in Lake Tang.

One of my customers (who is also on the forum I think) used Anubius sp. with great success :)

Most of the Hygrophila species also do well in high ph, and are great space fillers that grow quickly. :)
