If there is a bright spot in the universe I'm in t
I recently was given an old tank with tons of old equipment and other various junk. Anyway I was searching through and found a package with bulbs you plant in your gravel and they will grow in eight to fourteen days. Has anybody ever heard of these or had experience? I can't find anything on the net or on the forums. Thanks for any info!

It's probably a packet of bulbs that can be purchased at WalMart. If so they're either aponogetons or lily bulbs. I've had success growing them. Beware, aponogetons grow big very quickly. Give it a try. They should grow fine under low lighting.

You can try to grow them. If the package was sealed, then you wouldn't have to worry about any 'foreign' problems. If they don't work out, WalMart sells the bulb packages for roughly $2-3 dollars.

If any bulbs don't work you can get replacement,s but definitely not worth it. Just make sure that the tank isn't too shallow and that you have enough light and whatnot.

Question on my part:

I have 2 white leaves. Not sure if they're dying, but these were leaves that appeared a while after the other ones. I mistook itfor flowers at first, but then they reached the surface...

Those are the easist plants there is to grow. Just drop in tank and wait for them to sprout out. When they do plant the bulb sideways down in the gravle/sand. Some will grow real big and some won't. If they are Aponogeton bulbs they will grow long thin leaves. If lilly they will grow a bigger fat leaf on a long steam. The flowers from both should be cut off this will promote healthy plant growth.
