I am the Loach Queen...fear me, mortal!
I have decided to go with an all live planted tank for my 55 Gallon Asian Biotype Aquarium, but I'm a having a bit of trouble finding a decent list of Asian type plants. I also haven't had a planted tank in almost 10 years, so I need a bit of help in the care department as well.
I am planning on doing a mixed substrate of Black Tahitian Moon Sand and Volcanit, but I don't know much about Volcanit either, and whether it's really going to help the growth of the plants or not.
Would the sand be enough for the plants or should I do some kind of fertilizer as well?
Here's what Asian-type plants I've found (and liked) so far:
Java Fern
Variegated Japanese Dwarf Rush
Balansae Plant
Wisteria
Ambulia
Dragon Flame
Can anyone help me out with info. on these plants such as ease of keeping, how big they get, if any are poisonous to certain fish, etc. And does anyone know of any other good types of Asian plants for aquariums? Any other care tips for plants in general will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance guys!
