im not sure what this plants name is. it grows like lettuce. anyway it must be doing good, its got three babies on it! ive noticed that the babies sprout off in the same way as amazon swords do. do i leave them on the mother until they mature too?

They have it all wrong, it is Microsorum pteropus.

Yep, it's Java Fern (aka Microsorum Pteropus).

You can let the baby plants grow a bit and eventually they will detach themselves from the mother plant. If they don't you can always gently pull them off. Many people tie the little plantlets onto a rock or bogwood with some black string. The roots will eventually attach to the rock.
