the plant with the smooth edges and reddish underside is Ludwigia repens. They generally require >2 wpg. With lower light the existing leaves will fall off and it will start to grow new, somewhat dwarfed leaves or it just won't grow at all. One thing about ludwigia (repens, at least) is that the leaves towards the bottom of the stem will fall off anyway because not that much light is getting to them if they're planted in bunches. On the contrary, if the growing-tip is under really high light levels, then the entire leaf, not just the underside, will turn vibrant maroon-red. It's a great plant for adding extravagance to an all-green tank.

not sure about the one with the serrated edges though.

here's a pic of Ludwigia Repens:

thanks, mine is growing really well right now so ill see how it goes (planted it on sunday). btw your plant looks really good, so does your whole tank.

i'd be inclined to say it's ludwiga glandulosa. simmilar to reapens but with bigger more rounded leaves. i have had both in the past. nice plant either way.

i had a look on plantgeek, it looks like it could be any of a few of the ludwiga varieties oh well, it doesnt really matter. anybody have an idea what the other one is?

the other one doesn't look aquatic to me. i'm not 100% though.

if it stays upright when you take it out of the water it's probably a land plant. the ludwiga will droop when you pull it out of the water, it's a pretty good indication as aquatic plants get their shape from boyancy rather than hard stems.

im pretty sure i remember it not staying upright. well my lfs said its a hardy aquatic plant, i trust them ive been going there for years and they even tell me what the non aquatic plants are. It is also growing at a stupidly fast rate.
