Looks like some Black Neons in there as well. The plant with green leaves with light edges is a Dracæna species, not a true aquatic, it will not live, but they tend to last a while before rotting, when it does, you should take it out.

i've got those plants in my tank as well!

didn't think they were growing much!!!!

thanks

NB: sorry for jumping on your thread reddeer! :*)

generally if it goes floppy when you take it out of the water it's aquatic. ie wont hold its shape out of water.

if in doubt ask the manager. i've had a few humble admissions in the past from jumped up salesman...

Advising on plants is almost always impossible without asking a whole load of questions. The most important always being "how much light do you have"?

As a rule of thumb, 2 Watts per gallon of full spectrum, (5000K - 6700K), fluorescent light turned on for 10-12 hours a day will give you "Medium" light.

With that in mind, and knowing your water chemistry parameters, browse the list at Tropica and look for plants that match and are flagged as "Easy" or "Very Easy".

If your light levels are a lot higher, then you may want to consider CO2 injection, but most beginners with plants are suprised at how low their light is.

Really. When I switched from a 15w flouro to a 55w pc w/ reflector I thought the sun itself had invaded the room! Very bright to say the least. But then again 440w of aluminum halide light is bright as well, but that's another story... Anyway that's a nice tank you have there reddeerhobbiest.
