Hey all
I just bought some PH 7.0 equalizer. Added the stuff to correct measurements and its thrown it up to 7.5 on the test. what have i done wrong or do i have to wait a certain ammount of time for this equalizer to work

Can you tell us a little about your tank?

-size?
-inhabitants?
-pH before adding the equalizer?
-bogwood or coral sand present?
-cycled?

Sure 19ltr tank. no fish as yet (just prepping it) my PH was 7.0 no bogwood or coral sand just basicly tank pebbles and yes the water is cycled.

Don't mean to sound rude but why are you messing with your ph ? you said it was 7.0 before yet you go and add some stuff to make it 7.0 ?????

All ph buffers will only work for a short while and then you must continually add it every time you do water changes, which is gonna cost a fortune in the long term.

As I said in your previous thread ( which obviously you took no notice to ) don't mess with ph inless absolutely necessary. It WILL cause more problems than it could ever solve.

Very few problems that occur in a fish tank is down to improper ph levels, and if your levels are around 6.5 - 7.5 then this will be fine for most tropical fish.

i second Fat Boys response. don't mess with that pH buffer stuff, especially if you are blessed with neutral pH straight out of the tap. makes no sense. just lose that pH junk, it'll go back to 7 after a bunch of water changes over time.

even those of us without neutral pH don't mess with our pH. my pH out of the tap is about 8.5, but i'd rather keep it stable and just work with it then play around with chemicals that could possibly wreak havoc with water stability.
