Ph Questions

Hi there,

My tanks ph is 8, tap water is 7.8. one of my sword tails died (only a few days of putting her into the take) Pets at home said the ph was too high and recommended ph down. I've added one dose to the tank within a water change. the ph has droped to 7.8.

Over time i want to get the ph down to about 7. i take out about 20 litres out of the tank weekly so when i put back in 20 litres, how do i make sure that water is ph7?

tank is 39in long 13in wide and 16in deep. just over 100l.

I'm not a lover of chemicals to bring down PH but one method you could use is R.O water.

My friend used some 'Proper PH' stuff to reduce his P.H and this is what the tank looks like now.

He is going to do a complete water change now and start again.

just as well i didn't use 'Proper PH'. what is R.O water?
