Particles In Water

I`ve had my tank setup for a few weeks now but I`ve got an ever decreasing amount of floating "particles" in my water I recentley put some fine filter pads in my Fluval 305 but it`s not really helped, I`m beginning to think that maybe my filter intakes not in great position as it`s behind a lot of rocks , do you think re-postioning it would help ?
Any advice or what else might cause it appreciated ?

I would try re-positoning the filter intakes first and see if that helps

are you sure its particles of "crud" and not alge if its a new\cycling tank you may get alot of alge floating in the water thusly making it cloudy

Haven`t a clue but it could be algae but I thought as the particles are easily visible in the water floating it must be bit`s of crud floating around rather than going into the filter ?, I just presumed algae spores would be too small to be seen indivudally .
