nope, but we have them in the store where i work.

seems to depend on the individual, i have one customer that keeps them with neons however i wouldn't advise it with 99% of them. a colleague on the other hand has one on its own that attacks any fish or hands that enter its tank, (no joke)
(instore they are in a tank with 2inch tinfoil barbs)

IMO they are fine in a Hardy Community tank, Large or territorial fish,

i hope to get a couple for my community tank (see profile)!
not sure how they would get on with the gouramis, i have seen them kept with everything else you have but again depends on the individual.

yep thats the name they are commonly sold under, but i believe their are different types available.

so you saying there could be a chance as long as i watch the gouramis!
maybe i'll ask the guy's in the pet shop if i can buy two on the agreement that if they get punchy i can take them back!!
thanks for your reply's and keep them coming if you have an opinion, all are gratefully recieved.

yes, just be careful at feeding times as parrots can be very boistrous and could easily brush the gouramis and even the angels aside in order to get to food.

What I would probably do would be to feed some flake and sinking pellets at the same time, gouramis usually eat by sucking at the top of the water to draw in the food, while parrot cichlids tend to go for it at all levels. Both fish would get their share :good:

thank you,
its sounding promising!
as for feeding, i feed my fish flake, sinking pellets, frozen blood worm and growth pellets so there should be food at all levels.
