It was suggested I post this here too :)

I bought three cory's yesterday, an albino, a panda and supposidly a leopard cory but it turns out its really an upside down catfish! Oh well, he's awesome. (I also rescued a very badly nipped betta!)

The albino is zooming around the tank being all happy the catfish is doing fine but the panda cory just sits. I've been doing some reading that they're more sensitive than other types of cory, and that the temperature of my tank is probably a bit high for them (I've turned down the heater) but he was in the tank with a very dead cory in the shop and I wondered if that might have affected him? Theres nothing physically wrong with him (as far as I can tell - hence pictures!) I just wanted a second opinion! I worry too much about my fish!

Bless him.

He got finrot as he has white edging to his dorsal fin, and it looks raggy at the ends.
He's a boy by the looks of it.
Can you issolate him and try a bacterial med.

How long did you climatise the new fish for?

Oh dear :S

I left him in the bag for quite a while while adding my water slowly with the lights off. I didn't put the fish shops water in my tank! My friend learnt the hard way from that!

I have no way to isolate him, I could put him in a jug and hang that over the side and add the medication to that I suppose.

Which type of treatment would I use, is it bacterial or fungal?

Never add the lfs bag water to the tank.
Climatise them in a bucket with a small heater.
Always test bag water in ph and temp so you know how long to climatise the fish for.

If you are in the uk. Myxazin by waterlife.

So its bacterial? I'm off to get some treatment now :)

Corys are very prone to bacterial infections.
With him being with a dead fish and finrot I would be on the safe side and medicate.

Thanks for all your help guys but he didn't make it :( He died a few hours after I medicated him.

Took him back to the shop today, I now have two albinos.

Bless him.
R.I.P.

Also They are schooling/community fish, have more than 2-ish, much happerier that way, they also feed for a little while, then rest then eat and so on.
