is my 40 gallon tank over stocked.i have 2 filters on it now.(see signiture)

oh!i will be adding 7 syno petricola to one of my tanks depending on size.but i know they arent full grown.
i want to get 1 more bumble bee,1 more lab and 1 more acei.
i will be upgradeing in the future so if they are a little overstocked for the filters, its ok

You can add more to your tank mate i would say remove the juwel as there not mbuna and the others are and plecos are just poo machines so i would replace them with syndontis i got rid of my 2 and put in 2 syndontis brichardis and there much better poo is down by 90% and nitrate has gone from 60ppm per week to around 15-20ppm a week. As for stocking up the numbers of your yellow labs to about 3-5 they do better in groups and the m/f ratio on these doesnt really matter. your Pseudotropheus crabro or bumble bee is gonna get big around 8" and are very aggresive so not really suitable for your tank but you should look at upping the numbers of your current fish maybe to around 12 cichlids and 2 syndontis would be good mbuna which are mainly what you have do best when overstocked it balances out there agression and you dont get one fish singled out and bullied. Hope this helps you.

i m keeping my bumble bee cichlid:)
i have 1 red zebra thats bigger and beats up a small zebra almost to death.so i was really looking for a fish to bully him around.if he gets like ? inches and i dot have a bigger tank, ill have oscar101 hold on to him for me in his tanks
could i put the jewel in my community?
will the rocks stay clean if i move the plec?
and the synos i think are only 1 inch and they are slow growers but also are active in larger groups.

oh!also i will be buying a canister filter for a 75 gallon.soo ill be replaceing the others.(i know i have to run it for a while to gain bacteria)

Im not sure about your juwel not my thing. As for your Pseudotropheus crabro he needs to be in a minimum 75g tank mate he will get to big for your 40g. Zebras are quiet aggressive maybe there both males you should have 1m 2/3f so this could be your problem also removing the plecos will be fine introduce the syndontis when there about 2/3" also some mbuna eat algea aswell i do not have a problem. You do not need 7 syndontis i would say 2-3 will be suffice.

i would advise against putting a jewel into a community tank it proabably will terrorise the other fish if they are smaller than him.

:good:

allright.i think i may not add more fish besides the synos.i will more then likely start another tank as a breeding tank for most of them.
