In my 10 gal tank, which would be the better option for cleaning the tank? Otto cat or a snail?

Some snails may eat plants present in your aquarium...If you choose snails, make sure you dont just leave it to eat scraps and algae off your tank, you should supply it with vegetables as well as a algae wafers every now and again...This may prevent snails from starvation as well as being tempted to eeat plants in your tank...
Ottos on the other hand have been known to eat algae readily off your tank...Ottos are sensitive fish and you have to make sure you tank is fully mature before placing any ottos in your tank....Similar to all bottom feeders, algae present in your tank should not be its main diet and should be supplemented with various vegetables and algae wafers tp prevent starvation....Hope this helps.
P.S. just to let you know some snails such as apple snails are heard to grow to a size of a tennis ball when fed correctly.

My Apple Snail grew to the size of a tennis ball, maybe a little bigger, even. He ate every plant he came across, and died at the ripe old age... of 2.

Otto's

I'll never have a snail in my tank unless it's to feed my loaches. Snails populations can get out of control too easily for my tastes.

Thanks all, I think I will go with the Otto cat, I have had them before and they sure can get into the tiny crevices easily and do a good job. The only thing I did not like about them is when I had my beautiful turquoise discus I seen it sucking to the body of my discus. Needless to say I lost that amazing fish but it was not due to this.
