Other common names for Bolivian Ram?

When we lived in Tacoma, WA, I had a tank that I'm sure I stocked all wrong, so I won't embarass myself by saying what I had in it (5 tiger barbs, 2 "ruby clowns", 2 clown loaches, gold gourami and another brilliant african cichlid a Jewel maybe, but am not sure - all in a 35 hex)....

Anyway - I loved those ruby clowns that I had, they were so cute. I couldn't remember what they were though until I stumbled on them and I'm pretty sure they were Bolivians but that name didn't really ring a bell with me. Then one site had other common names listed and one of them was Ruby Clown Cichlid...

Has anyone else heard them referred to by that name? Just curious

Not taht one but I've heard other names refering to Rams with ruby and other stuff like that in the name. Confusing isn't it.

I've heard Ruby "Crown" but not "Clown", however it would be easy to mix those up.

Yes, Petco calls them Ruby Clown Cichlids.

I've also seen them called that in lfs.

Thanks CometCattle. That would explain it, when I was in WA, I was getting my fishies from Petco. (and they were a GOOD Petco, the staff really knew their stuff)
