Ages ago I posted asking what the orange eggs in my tank were, my shrimp, my Jewel Cichlid or my Chinese Algae eater... I just found out.

does this mean that he is a she? And being the only one left presumably it means they are unfertilized?

Both good assumptions :)

I'm surprised she's got eggs if there is not possible mate...

She/he did have but she/he got peckish and ate him/her!

I don't get it, I was under the understanding that the male was the larger and that the female carried the eggs. can anyone enlighten me? Plus last time the jewel cichlid protected the eggs for ages, how wierd it that!?

Can anyone help me here? it has now dropped the eggs and is half floating at the surface like its about to carc it! It did this once when I slacked on water changes and on one occasion when I forgot declorinator.

The water is good so I don't understand, it has just shed and made eggs I guess that could be a massive strain on the body but I don't know?!

What's going on?
