Apart from the obvious 'aww, bless', lesser aggression and no day-glo colours or ridiculously long fins (lol), I'd like a pair that can earn me a few pennies to support my horrendous 'I wonder what that fish is, lets buy it and see' addiction (that hasn't started yet, but will do very soon :shifty: ). This is the list I can pick from (in theory).

Betta brownorum wild
Betta coccina
Betta craceus wild
Betta dimidiata wild
Betta edithae g.br.
Betta fallax
Betta falx g.br.
Betta fusca
Betta fusca g.br.
Betta imbellis
Betta cf.pallida wild
Betta pi wild
Betta picta g.br.
Betta prima wild
Betta pugnax
Betta simplex
Betta simplex g.br.
Betta sinorum wild
Betta smaragdina g.br.

Not too sure what the 'g.br.' means, I'd assume captive bred or similar. I've been looking at dimidiata for a while, although they don't seem as spectacular as the IBC pictures make them look... I don't want imbellis as they're the most common of the wilds. So, what would you suggest?

I'm in the UK ;) And this is the list I can actually pick from, it's from the stock list of an importing company :) Jut wondered what species people liked as I'd have to buy them all :X

When I looked into wilds, I found most needed quite a low PH and mine is 8.5 so no luck for me as I don't like to mess with the water :(

Just close your eyes and pick one

I love wilds!

They're some easy to please imo. . .

I agree w/ Joby ~ just pick one you would like or close your eyes and pick :good:

Well, I suggest if you're looking for some that will bring in some change, you will want to get a mouthbrooder, betta pi go pretty good, just research research and research some more, wilds are so much fun to have, I love them. :)

[Go for it with the wilds! :good: It's a road less travelled and they are so interesting. I looked on aquabid and the Betta coccina were VERY pricey there. They were cute little things tho and maybe you can get a deal from somewhere or other.

Absolutely. First find out what there is a market for. No point breeding "expensive" fish if no one is going to buy them - or you have difficulty in selling them. So I'd go with most popularly expensive :)

I've narrowed it down to the more 'colourful' ones, brownorum I like, although they are the most expensive (I think), but they're red with the cutest shimmery blue spot on their side.

oohfeeshy, where you getting them from?
i'd love to breed wilds someday
i've never ever seen any in the flesh though.
