so yeah the tank is asia/south america mixed species of fish, inverts, and plants.

the top dweelers right now are hatchet fish and celebes halfbeaks, and i was looking for one more species to add to the tank

so any recomendations on peacefull killis that have a minimum size of 2 inches would be great!

been looking some stuff up and it looks like most of the south american killis are annual, so would that mean they die in one year or would they live longer? so if i got one would i have to get a pair so they breed and i have more for next year?

You need to read more on the annualism of killifish and how it works.
The genus Rivulus hail from southern America and are non-annual, although some are quite bland in colouration as killifish go.
Be aware that there are some quite large members of this genus.
Rivulus agilae being one of the more novice related species to keep and breed and gets to around 60mm
Point to note, Inverts need harder water with calcium in-order to shed their carapace/shells and grow so soft water killifish and this type of livestock may not be a perfect marriage.
