I have always had trouble getting enough suction from my python gravel siphon to clean the fish waste off the sand substrate. In order to get enough suction I have just been using the hose, not the siphon, to hover over the waste to remove it. But, because the hose is flexible it is very difficult to maneuver. So, I ordered a plastic pipe that fits over the hose, and because it is rigid, it allows me to suck up any and all waste with ease. I can reach the very back of my 350 gallon aquarium and I don't even have to get my hands wet. I wish I had thought of it sooner.

i also have been using just hose and that is a great idea i will have to try it :good:

i also am in the middle of setting up a 280g and it will make things a lot easier

You will love the 280g. I also have made sure that I have not overstocked it. It helps give me the peace of mind that the fish are not overcrowded and that they can live full lives.
