moving apartments and this means moving fish tanks. I know there are other threads on this, but I'm curious, will tearing the tank down cause it to re-cycle even if i keep the filter in tank water?

I don't think it will fully re-cycle, however, if it is a long move then maybe a small cycle?

depends how far you are going though. Obviously less time out of tank is better

-sighs- it won't be long, i'm moving about a block, but because it's a 29 gallon and heavy with nothing in it, i'm going to have to pretty much empty it entirely for the move. and it only just finished cycling, too

your cycle will be fine.


jus keep the filter pads wet and theyll last for, think its 24 hours before they start dieing.


its just like cloning a tank.

there's a guy doing a juge journey with a few tanks, you're quite lucky

i'd almost rather be doing a huge journey, it would make all the effort of emptying tanks worthwhile. as it is i'm just moving down the block
