Well i got my Corys yesterday and the shop didn't have any brineshrimp or bloodworm, so i went out to the back of my dads pond to see what was going on in the filter (11k Gallon Pond) and i found these? What are they and are they Edible for my Corys? I got 2 albino 2 bronze and 2 peppered. Thanks. Heres A Picture.

they look like mosquito larve. am i wrong about this?and you cory cats will eat frozen blood worms and brine shrimp. they dont have to be fresh, and also they will eat catfish pellets and the old fashion flake food. it doesnt have to be live.

if they are mosquito larvae, dont feed them to your fish if there are wild ducks using your pond. often the mosquitos/ larvae will contain bad dieses that will kill your fish.

There is no ducks using our pond.. its just a round 11000 6ft deep gallon pond with a built up wall around it and i found the wiggly things in the back of the filter where theres all rocks and stuff.

do they have legs? are they alive or dead?
to they have segments, like centipedes?

No, i dont think your corys will eat the larve, or anything that have to catch for that matter. Best to stick with flakes and pellets. They do like frozen blood worms though.

Well i have no idea to be honest.
hi,i looked at your photo i have them too. i have them on the water outlet of the filter box to my pond too. i dont have ducks apart from a plastic one. i would like to know if i could feed them too my fish aswell if any one can help many thanks bbbls108

i would say fish would eat them for sure. but im not to sure there good for your fish.

always a bad idea to feed your fish unkown things especially from outside ;)
