Ive been filtering my water for my tropical community tank for about a month now, bought the filter because I was getting a nasty algae bloom. Ive scrubbed a fair bit off and its not coming back :D

One thing Ive noticed is that my plants are growing a lot more slowly. That suits me kindof as I have one bushy plant that used to grow several inches in a week! It would then get so big Id have to chop it in half and replant.

I think theyre still getting enough goodness as theyre not dying, anyone have any views on this?

What is Nitragon? Some kind of device that take NO3- away from water?

Plants need NO3- too and it should be 2-10mg/l NO3- in water (, although some plants don't tolerate higher nitrate level than 3-4 mg/l).

yep its a canister that i put water from my hose through and it comes out with low nitrates and phosphates. My tap water was 30mg/l and now the water in my tank is <10mg/l
