Earlier this month we went out and bought new fish, all of which died. Shortly thereafter most of our fish started dropping like flies. I noticed one of my 3-4 inch Silver Dollars had a cloudy eye and posted on the Emergency Board. Our water values were fine according to our water testers and a full panel-water test taken at our local fish store. We attributed the problem was probably from Cloudy Eye and started treating the tank with Maracyn-Two. Our last treatment is tonight and the Silver Dollars eye is still a little cloudy, but almost completely cleared up. Sometime tomoorow after all the treatments have been done we're going to replace the carbon and other things in our filter as well as do at least a 25% water change. If all goes well and we have no more sudden deaths and the Silver Dollar's eye clears up completely, we'd like to get some more fish in a few months or so (as a precautionary mesure), since a lot of our others were killed in whatever was wrong with our tank. Once this clears up, what do you recommend getting?
Our tank is 75 gallons and is themed as an Amazonian biotope. I don't remember the exact dimentions but I'd roughly estimate the tank is two feet tall, 1.5-2 feet wide and about 4-5 feet long. In it we currently have:
3 Silver Dollars (one full grown, others 3-4 inches long)
2 Angel Fish (3-4 inches long)
1 Marble Hatchetfish
1 Brown Knife Fish (not African Knife; about 5 inches long)
1 Long-Skited Black Tetra
1 Sailfin Pleco (about 4 inches long)
