Hello, I keep a betta and I have a 30 gallon that should be setup in the next few weeks or so. I haven't yet decided on fish but I have decided on sand and plants.

I haven't kept a medium sized tank and only have experience with 2 - 5 gallon tanks that have only ever had betta and silk plants.

So, my question is what is a good plant to start with?

Thanks,

BB

Good starting plants will depend on a few things like substrate, light etc. However if youjust want some plants that are great for beginning gardeners any of the cryptocornes, anubias, java fern and java moss. Here are a couple of links to get you going Proven performers and Tropica and First planted Tank These should get you on the right track. There is a lot to consider with plants. Do you want them as the main focal point? Do you want them as a way to set up a species tank (biotope) or do you just want to put in a few for looks or as hiding/resting places for your fry or fish. HTH :)
