Hi! My name is Laurie. My husband and I just recently got a fish together. Yay! Our first one! So, I thought I'd get on a couple boards to get advice from people who have had fish for longer. We're both 21. We've got two cockatiels, Holly and Marzipan, an older guinea pig, Matilda, and a mouse, Spartacus Houdini. Recently a friend of our's gave us a fish and a ten gallon tank because he didn't have room. Well, actually, the real reason is that it's a large gourami and it was eating his baby neons. Alfred, as my husband named him, is three and a half inches long. He said that he was told that Alfred was a tetra.
I don't think so. The only tetras I know about are neons. Those don't get three and a half inches as far as I know... Anyway, we got Alfred a friend today. A three inch Plecostomus. My husband named him Chuck or Chuckles. Heh. Jason, my husband, is a theatre manager here in Ellensburg Washington. I have a job interview for the hospital here tomorrow! Wish me luck! I have a CNA license and they need one for the ER. We'll see! We're here in a small studio apartment. Once we get our own house with more room, we're thinking about getting a fifty gallon tank or bigger and starting our own little community. Right now though, in a ten gallon tank, I think we'll stick with Alfred and Chuck. Until Chuck gets too big for the tank anyway... That shouldn't be before we get our own house. I'd hope not anyway!!! Well, have any more questions? Don't be afraid to ask!
