Welcome to the forum! I have found this forum to be the most consistently helpful and accurate information on fish-keeping anywhere. There is a ton of info out there and often you can find folks saying completely opposite things with complete confidence that they are right. It can get frustrating and confusing. Not to say that there isn't a lot of good info elsewhere, but this forum is solid pretty much every time.
Glad you're jumping in! It can be very easy or very complicated - you can decide how deep you want to go - I've found that a very simple setup is just as enjoyable as the more complicated ones, so the return on investment is high regardless. Have fun!!
Fishkeeping is remarkably like having other pets. I need to set aside time every day to walk my dog, and hang out with her. I need to set aside 5 minutes every day to feed the fish, time every week to do partial water changes, and then allow time to enjoy what's going on.
You can get into making your tank more beautiful, trying different fish, shrimp and plants, trying new tech of you're into that, or old tech if you're not.
