New Tank Ideas

Hello to anyone who doesnt know me yet

Im just about to order myself a new Juwel Rio 300 in black. Currently i have a no name tank of about 95L

Looking for some ideas as to what fish to stock and plants to put in

Any suggestions peeps?

Hi neil, i presume that this is your current stocking in your 95 L

6 Cardinal Tetras
4 Red Eye Tetras
3 Pineapple Sword's
Pair of Rainbow Cichlid
Pair of Bolivian Rams
2 Whiptails
2 Khuli Loach's
1 Geophagus Balzani
1 Marble Plec
1 Corydoras Sterbai

If it was me i would definitely move the Geophagus and Rainbw cichlids over to the new larger tank,
I'm also guessing that the marble plec is either a L001 or a Gibbicep in which case it will need easily outgrow your 95L and if it is a gibbiceps then it is possible for it to outgrow the 300L

I would then build on the 300 with a american theme with plenty of bogwood and a couple of hardy plants.
you could then look at adding tot he stocking with other cichlids, catfish and plecs.

Also with the 4 fish being removed from the 95L you can build on what you already have, I would definitely add more Corys and a few more khuli loach as well as one more species of tetra and possibly a small bulldog or bristlenose plec to finish.

Well slight change of plan. Was just about to order my new tank today but got talking to a chap at my work on thursday and turns out he had a 4ft tank with stand, filter loads of food and nutrients etc. All for £50. Cant complain

Well i got some plants for the tank at the weekend. Took a bit of changing anout but think i've finally got it how i want it for now
