New Juwel Rio 125

HI there:

I just bought and filled my brand new Juwel Rio 125 yesterday, and after everything had settled, I turned on the filter.
I thought it was quite noisy. Will it 'bed in' and get quieter over time ?
Has anyone had the same experience ?

Usually, powerheads do get a bit quieter over time. If it seems unnaturally loud, try taking the powerhead apart and look for any potential blockages/imperfections.

Mine was so noisy that after a month I replaced it. The tank is in the lounge under our bedroom, and at night it sounded as though someone was running an ancient diesel car right outside the window. My husband said that if I didn't do something he'd make me turn it off overnight. After 10 years fishkeeping before I got the rio 125, I'd found a few tricks for noisy filters but none of them worked on this one.

But I seem to be the only person who ever had that problem, maybe yours will bed down. I gave up waiting after a month.
