My tank is over 50 gallons, It has been cycled and has been running for over 4 months, I have tetras and corys in it. I purchased 1 male guppy and 3 female guppies to the tank a couple of days ago. While my male guppy has been fine swimming and going to each of the females and swims with the tetras etc.. my females have recently stayed at the top floating as if they are playing with the current of the filter? one like's to hide and float near the filter while the other two stay near the side. They occasionally have a swim around the tank and thats it. My other fish are fine and I have no problems with them, I have checked the water conditions and they are fine I do weekly water changes of about 40%. Is this how guppies act? really worried about them

Sometimes it takes a few days for a fish to adjust to a new home. . .a couple of mine didn't even eat for the first few days. That said, no, having guppies staying at the top and/or hiding is not normal behavior. I've never mixed male and females together so possibly that's making them more weary.

Hope they do okay.
