new gourami

hey everyone i just got a new pearl gourami and was wondering if i can use my softened water or distilled or what is the best water source for his bowl thanks replies will be greatly appreciated

yea the lady at my LFS said it was fine he is lookin good and swimming around but i cant tell how he feels ... i read that you have to keep them in a 25 G tank thats really why i am asking..cuz i dont want him to die

i wouldn't keep a gourami in a bowl..especially a pearl gourami as the can get pretty big..upto about 6 Inches i think...maybe you should consider getting a bigger tank for him.

they like soft to moderatley hard water..they also need filtration and heating...so i still strongly suggest moving him to a proper tank.
