Neons & Cardinals

I've got a couple of neons and I'm planning on getting some more so that they're more comfortable. I'd like to get cardinals this time though so my questions is: will neons & cardinals school together?

We started off with 6 neons and went back to get some more to make a larger group. The lfs suggested getting cardinals, and I asked if they would school together, she said they might do, but not in the way neons would do, so we just stuck to neons. I don't know if this is true or not, as we didn't try it. Maybe some other people on here have a better idea!

Also if you have any larger fish i'd watch out, as all our poor neons bar one have now been devoured by the growing angelfish. They are such lovely fish, so I want to get a smaller tank when we move to our own house so that I can get some more. I would recmommend getting a nice large group, as they look lovely swimming together!

in the shop wher i work we have a few sneaky neons who have somehow managed to get with the cardinals. they all shoal together. i find them hardier too

Yep, mine do just fine. The petshop had some neons mixed in with cardinals, and wouldn't ya know it I got 4 of each.

Ours shoal together, havn't had a problem.
