I noticed one of my neons a bit less active than the others and took a closer look and realized he has a dot in the middle of his eye. I watched him swimming and realized it is not so much that he is less active but seems to not be able to see from that eye and just swimming differently.
I've not had fish with eye problems in a reeeeeeeally long time. Only ever did with goldfish and my entire experience with goldfish was a disaster.
I keep my tank really cleaning and do a partial water changed in the middle of the week and at least a 50% water change on the weekend and a raise in ammonia is very rare in this tank. This tank has been stable for a long time now (I have had recent ich troubles in another tank but this one was unaffected).
So.. I am wondering what exactly I should do about it (my tank holds neon tetras several guppies, 2 platies and cherry shrimp).
My usual tactic would be clean water would clear in up in a few weeks... but... my tank water is very very regularly cleaned!
