I am brand new to having neon tetras so I've not had experience with this. I usually let my guppy fry out of the mesh box around 2 weeks (more size time than time period). I am sure my guppies won't eat them at this point.... but are they safe with my neon tetras?

I would give the fry a little more time in the net. I could see the Neons eating them.

Ok thanks... maybe I will consider sticking them in my male guppy tank for a few weeks instead... they are a big bunch of softies.

Yes.. Neon tetras eat guppy fries.. I have experienced this first hand.

I agree that two week old fries are still vulnerable.

What size would be best to set them free in my tank with the the neons? Should they be maybe close to the same length as the tetras?

My babies in question are now swimming nicely with my tetra.... and the other day my guppy gave birth to LOADS of babies and I rescued a bunch to the breeder net and gave up and left the rest to swim in the tank... the tetra haven't even so much as chased them... so, I am thinking they will be safe in the future... from tetra at least... very big sister guppy has munched on a few though.
