hey guys. i want to talk about my praecox rainbowfish's and get some of my questioned answered!
i have a 75 gallon. my goal is to have about 10 of these rainbows. which is with 1 male dwarf gourami, 4 angel( only until i get a pair), 4 bolivian rams(only until i get a pair), 5 albino cories(trying to sell these) 6 juli cories, 2 albino bristnose plecos, 10 lemon tetras and 3 platties. so as soon as i get my pairs with my rams and angels i will have a perfect tanks with a lemon tetras and praecox rainbowfish school right in the middle!
my question is what is the male to female ratio im suppose to have with having 10 rainbows?
right now i have 5, i know this is prolly not good but i have 4 males and 1 female. 2 of the males and the female are new, i just got them the weekend that just pasted and they are way smaller that the 2 adult males. but everthing is fine.
the store that i get these from doesnt always have them and when they do its always more males than females. which explains my bad ratio right now. to be honest i like males way more than females because the females i had previous all died due to getting supper fat. which i cant explain but it happens to all of them and not the males. i would do all males but i want the male and female combination. would having more males then females be an isue? say 6 males 4 females? and how do i get them to mate? do i have to get the breeding mop thing?
