Need Help Quickly

a friend of mine is giving away 3 large-ish silver dollars, but i need to know if they will get along ok with the convicts or i should give them a miss... i need to know soon so that i can let him know!!!!

i think probably depending on tank size, other occupants, the fish's personalities and about a zillion other variables.

i'd say your OK to try it but make sure you have a back up plan for if they don't get on.

I had two silver dollars in with a few jellybean parrots which are a similar fish to the convicts but i only had them in for a week due to a problem with my tank but they all seemed to keep to themselves no fin chomping or bullying went on.

i wouldn't trust SD's with little cories if that's what you mean.

how big are your tanks and what are the inhabitants?

when you say convicts, do you mean a pair? if so, then no, you shouldn't put them in with anything that isn't big enough to fight back and even then, you could end up with a mess. Unless of course you have a huge tank, like 120 gallons or more!
