Hi Everyone!

I have a 15 gallon tank, and it happily holds 15 assorted Platies, 2 pearl gouramis, and 1 opaline gourami. This Christmas, I asked my parents for a 45 gallon tank, but they haven't approved me yet. Still, I hope for the best. I think my tank is overstocked, and I want to give them a better home. Do you think the new tank will be sufficient? Could I add guppies, zebra danios, and some cories to the new tank if I get the chance?

Thanks to all your replies and advice!

i would use a AquaOne canister filter 1500 $150AU , depends how mutch money you want to spend on the filteration?

and the more filteration you use the better for you fish`s health ect!

Hmm.. I'll see if we have one of those here in the Philippines.. It's hard to buy fish supplies here, since there's hardly any.. What other could you recommend besides the canister filter? Currently I'm just using a normal powerhead. I don't think it does much work either. I can't use an undergravel filter because there are fry in my tank, and I have no spare tanks to separate them.

you could use a AquaClear HOB or a Penguin Bio-wheel HOB. either one would work for the small fish you have and work well

Thanks for the advice guys! GOOD NEWS by the way, my wish is granted! My parents will get me a 50 gallon tank (36x18x18)!! Yey! My fish'll be happier! I can't wait to shop for the substrate, the filter, the fake plants (there aren't any good live plants sold here in the Philippines), and some rocks! Wee!!

Again, I ask for you advice...

What kind of substrate would you recommend for my tank? I'd like to use small pebbles or sand (I hope there's some available here :X )...

Here's my stocking (15 gallon): -> I know...overstocked.. :/
Male Guppies - 9
Male Platies = 11
Female Platies = 6
Gouramis = 3
Goldfish (these ones are small - they dont grow anymore.. ;) ) = 2

I really want to add more fish when I get the upgrade.. I NEED to add females to the tank (platies and especially guppies) cause the guppies are harrassing my platies..( they think they're female guppies).. I also want to add some cories and zebra danios.. It is advisable?

I want the tank to look natural..hehe..I've always wanted a piece of nature in my home..

Thanks for you replies!
