Alright, so my Gold nugget pleco, which I got a little over 2 days ago died this morning, it never look good, and I never saw it eat. The tank at petsmart (yes i know...) that had the pleco had like 2 dead ones in it and this was one of the few left. Well luckily petsmart has a 14 day guarantee so I got my $40  back. The whole time I had this thing I barely saw it, it always hid in the rocks. Most plecos are nocturnal I believe.

Would a Lace Sydontis be a good alternative from a plec? Would I see it more? Also, it would probably stay smaller so less waste and more room in my tank.

If there's any other catfish or fish for that matter you could recommend that would be great. :)

I've never had luck with Gold Nuggets. I've had two die on me. And all the commons I've ever owned have done nothing but thrived.

You must tell us what size tank you have and what fish you have in there now before we can reccomend a replacement.

What do you have for habitants in your tank now?

After a fish loss like yours, I would wait a week or two at the least to make sure no diseases show up before adding another new fish.

Yes, I had the same problem. Except with the place at Petwise. I bought a $260 guppy. Is that a rip-off or am I in for a bargain?

I reckon you should go and buy up all the guppies they have at that price.
Good luck to you :)

Well my fish are in my profile, its a 105 gallon tank, with an oscar, convict, severum, and senegal bichir. They are all still babies and would like to grow them up together so they get along. All my other fish are fine, they eat and compete with each other every once in a while. Would I be overstocked if I added another fish? I currently have 1 ac110 running but will be adding an eheim 2250 canister filter around Christmas.

That's pretty heavy stocking but with good filtration and frequent water changes you may be able to get away with adding another fish. I wouldn't go with another big pleco though. Either a small pleco or small-medium size catfish.

If it was up to me though, I wouldn't add anything. The Oscar alone will create a ton of waste when your fish grow up.
