right i have my new tank its a 3ft clearseal

DSCF1189.jpg

has a Clearseal Magi-700 Submersible Aquarium Power Filter

and a rena cal 100w submersable heater

dimentions are
36x15x12

23g (uk)
28g (us)

ph is about 6.8 - 7

Filter is fully cycled and is running in the 4ft tank

now it has sand with pea gravel in it also a piece of wood and a small rock

my query is that the kids and misses like cichlid's which i really only have limited knowledge about them also the misses likes sharks (but i think it is too small for one) and unsure if cichlids are compatible

so if you had this tank what would you do with it ? :good: :S

What kind of cichlids are you interested in? Unfortunately, none of the African cichlids from Lake Malawi would be suitable, but there are several species from Lake Tanganikya and New World species that would do well. Here are a couple of links on stocking suggestions.

Or, you could go with like, 2 pair's of kribensis cichlid's. Only becuase the tnak is so long. There is a picture of a female kirbensis as my avatar. They are very pretty. You might also want some corries, like a group of 6. And maybe a school of Lemon Tetra's, and a school of Cardinal tetra's, and Maybe Blue Gourami. You also might want a few Dalmation Mollies.

i have 2 kribs in the 4ft tank

have thought about a mbuna tank by adding loads of rocks in a pile

i have 6 corries in the 4ft as well

i think i was looking @ the blockhead and also the acara

the 3ft tank would be too small for mbuna, as well as a blue acara

why don't you choose a center piece fish that you would definitely like to have, then we could advise on suitable tankmates,

American Dwarf cichlids are probably going to be the easiest to find, there are plenty of species that would work and you could get away with a pair of 2-3 species

here is also a site which gives the names of a few species that you and your family could research.
Dwarf Cichlids

are you going to be adding anymore pieces of bogwood, or a few rocks or plants ?
