I added a mystery snail to my 10 gallon tank which has abundant algae. Does the little guy need supplemental food? Thanks.

Snails are scavengers, they'll eat whatever they can find, including fish food...in a well-established tank, they do fine with what is already there, but occasional fish food or blanched veggies will be enjoyed, as well

What type of algae? My mystery snails dont eat certain types of algae only the super soft mushy algae

Right now I have an abundance of brown algae, diatoms I think. The tank was recently cycled.
mine did not eat diatoms, and i found that after a while the silicates from the substrate dissipate so there are less diatoms.
