Hi I seem to have gotten an extra fish at my lfs today. Its very small, more elongated body shape than an Glowlight tetra, and seems silvery/gold from a distance and on closer inspection has what looks like leopard spots running along the middle of its body. Can anyone help me with what it might be? I've tried getting a picture but its very nervous and hard to see what it looks like properly from any pictures I got so far.

Edit: After looking through the fish species index, it looks a lot like a dwarf danio. Although most of its body seems to be plainer than the pictures I've seen and it has spots instead of stripes. I've seen mentions of spotted dwarf danios so maybe its this?

Thanks very much I'm pretty sure thats what it is :D

as soon as you get a picture we'll be able to tell you what it is!

I would say from that picture it is probably a Danio Sp. 'burma'

I've checked with the shop and it seems it was accidently sent to the shop in with the Gold Tetras and there aren't any more, he seems to swim with the Golds almost all the time and I can't see any signs of stress. Will he be alright or would I be better to try and get him some company? It would probably have to be another type of danio since I'm not sure I'd be able to find another one of the same species.

yes he'll be ok with any other danio,
i would suggest any of the other 'spotty' ones for company rather than striped ones or 'patterned' ones
