My Tank Updated

Hey guys and gals! its been a while! Ive been busy with finishing up high school and getting ready for college! So at least I have a pretty good excuse! Now that I'm finally done with high school 

 

 I can spend some time on my tank again! I rescaped it about two months ago now and I'm really happy with the hardscape. But I just can't get my plants to grow! 

 In fact this is a slightly old picture and most of the plants are getting brown on the edges and starting to wither.

I dose with API leaf zone once a week and just started the beginning of this week dosing once a day with liquid C02. 
 
As for the fish I currently have 7 snakeskin barbs, 4 odessa barbs, 5 black neon tetras and a bristlenose pleco. I plan on getting 3 more odessa barbs next week. Id like to get a goldnugget pleco or a clow pleco as well. Maybe another bristlenose who knows! and then possibly id like to do a pair of angelfish or rams.

Similar to the tank I'm cycling now, apart from my water is even more murky.

Thank you! Its a 45 gallon Tall. DImensions are 36" x 12" x 24"
 
I was constantly unhappy with my scapes because the tank is so tall and narrow that i couldn't really do anything with the top of the tank as far as decorating it. The piece of wood on the right however worked out perfectly and I no longer feel that the top is just empty waisted space. Plus its my first time with schooling fish and they explore the whole tank! makes it look much more lively.
